Walking the fine line

Okay I'm going back and forth with five pounds. This is ridiculous. I've been doing this for 6 weeks now. In one way I'm happy I'm controlling the yo yo but on the other hand I don't even want to be holding a yo yo that needs controlled. You know what I mean? I tell you I am going to beat this thing. I will come out on the winning end. I know statistics and everything else is against me but if I were in a prison camp Id lose weight in spite of statistics, two cycles a month and old age. So there you have it.

I have a strong suspicion that I'm not eating enough. Im going to lay my calories out on a plate for the day and eat only from those premeasured calories. I do that sometimes and its an eyeopener when I get off track. This time I think Im going to find that I have dipped way under 1200 calories thus my body thinks there is a famine.

It's frustrating how eating Halloween candy puts it on then I swing to the other end of the pendulum and eat too little to make up for it and I still don't lose. Its a find balance and once I find that balance again I'm going to cut a deep groove so I don't so easily bounce out of it!

  1. I am so there with you on this going back and forth. Mine is 3+/- and it's driving me crazy. I was doing so well and then at the beginning of October it stopped. I know we can do this, we can get through this but holy crap, it's hard to keep going!

  2. I understand the whole yo yo thing. That seems to be what I have been doing as well. This time of year is hard. Hang in there. You are right you might not be eating enough.

  3. It's funny what we do to ourselves after we make a mistake and eat junk, eh? There have been a few times when I've had to be very careful that I didn't cut my calories too much, nor exercise too much, out of a feeling of desperation to "fix" what I had done by eating junk. It never did help to overreact, only hurt. You are certainly doing a great job by recognizing what it is that you are doing, and trying to handle it in a logical and good-to-you fashion. :o )

  4. you know that I always think if we---the royal ---dip below 1200 our bodies then tend to holdon holdon to body fat.

sure, for some it is below 1100 but around there people tend to NOT LOSE.

  5. I hate the yo-yo, yup hate it. I didn't mind so much when it seemed to still be going down but since dh got sick I have been so preoccupied that I rarley think about what I eat till it's eaten.
Putting calories on your plate seems like a great idea. I would love to hear what all you put on there. I did so well when I was on Sparkpeople but waned from that as well in the past few months.
