First weigh in of the year

Sorry I got this posted so late. It was an incredibly busy day! So anyway my weight on this first day of the new year is 211.5. That is exactly what I weighed on December first. So my weight loss this month is 0. At one point this month I actually saw 215.5. So right smack dab in the middle of all the eating festivities I had to drastically slow things down so I could get those four pounds off before today. I did and I'm proud of myself. May I never see those numbers again!!!

I'm not ready to tally my yearly total because I still have until the 7th until my year is up. Its amazing to think that last year this time I weighed 252! I don't think I really thought I could do it when I started last year but this year I am convinced I can do it. I plan on picking up my rate of weight loss here this year. Im probably going to come out having lost roughly 43 pounds this year. If I only lose that much next year I would weigh 169! I would be totally happy with that but if I pick things up a notch I could be to my goal weight of 150 by the end of the year! I actually am excited about working on this in 2009!

  1. Everything is a milestone - your milestone is that you were able to maintain over the holidays. WAHOO!!! Do you measure yourself? If you worked out and did weights, you might have gained muscle while loosing fat which counteract each other when trying to measure with a scale.

  2. Nope unfortunately I dont work out. I have tennis elbow in my arm so lifting weights kills it and right now my knee is swollen so I cant even walk! :( I usually just do a walking and biking program. IN the summer I do lots of gardening and yard work so its not so hard to get the exercise in.

    That is amazing and I am so glad you put this blog together. I can't beleive it has been a year already. I figured out a few things since I have been fairly regular about weighing in. I can't wait to hear how you are going to pick up your wieght loss even more.

    I am back to 156 and I think that is great because for a while there I was back up in the 160's which is where I had started. Very discouraging but appearantly I should not weigh myself when on my monthly. It truly messes with my numbers.

    Oh and you should give us a photo update.
    Keep up all the good work and thanks for encouraging me to loose wieght.

  4. Vanessa if you look at my photos the last one was posted at 212. Im only 211 now. I dont think there will be enough diff. LOL
