After spending four days out of town at my daughters volleyball tournament, I find myself heavier still. Enough is enough. Im going to use weight watchers for the weigh ins and the motivation but Im not going to do their diet. I just dont have time to figure it all out. I've decided that with my life style and my habits I wil do quite well on WW old Core Diet.
Food for today is:
2 organic farm eggs
spinach salad with oil/vinegar dressing
1 cup of mixed legumes with lemon juice/ olive oil/ and herbs (garbanzo beans, blackpeas, kidney beans, yellow wax beans)
My afternoon snack will be a mixture of blueberries and bananas tossed with a bit of yogurt.
Tonight I'm having grilled cod and green beans.
I have a family reunion in September and it's imperative that I lose this weight by then. That's about 27 weeks from now. I would love to lose 50 pounds by then. That would mean I would only need to lose 2 pounds a week. I really can do this. I know I can!!
I always find that any program is overwhelming and time consuming at the beginning - so even if you do "Core" and then move into the new program gradually -- that's what I did w/ the plan that I'm doing from the WMC. They first gave me just one rule to follow, then added one - then gave me my plan and every visit, they give me something new to work on. It's much easier that way.
ReplyDeleteYou CAN do this!!! :)

i totally understand where you're coming from when you write that you "don't have time to figure it all out." i think that's one of the reasons why i'm not currently doing weight watchers (along with the fact that weight watchers isn't really offered in this country anyway), although the point system does fascinate me. even now, however, counting calories is so time-consuming. i almost wish even fresh produce came with nutrition facts on the back! :) i am open to trying weight watchers out when i get back to the states, but i can see how just going into the weigh-ins alone could be a good motivating factor.
ReplyDeleteanyway, i love your positive and determined attitude at the end of your post. i'm sure that you can do it too! (i'd really like to lose about the same amount of weight as you, by the way.)
It's always best to do what comfortable and realistic for you and you lifestyle.

I'm contemplating WW again. MY problem is that I am such a perfectionist that if I screw up once, it takes me days to get back on track. Do what works for you, but make sure you do it consistently! It's all about the journey - not the destination.
