I am Undone

Woe is me, for I have eaten of the meat of the pig! Yep, I had honey baked ham!! The damage is done. It will take me at least a week to get this weight off. I know from past experiences that when I eat ham I retain water enough to flood the Hoover Dam! But oh wait, you must hear what I didn't eat.

I didnt eat the icecream desert with the peanut butter granola crust that I made. I didnt eat chocolate covered strawberries or the green bean casserole. I only had 3 little bites of the bread that was done under the broiler with onions and butter and mayo and garlic done to perfection by Wendy's mother in law.

And oh, get this, I had a 1/2 cup of cottage potatoes that I had made. Alas, they were loaded with Velveeta cheese and butter all simmered and cooked into a cheesy gooey mess of deliciousness!

So on my plate today I had 2 slices of ham, a 1/2 cup of cottage potatoes, and Tablespoon of fruit salad. I had three bites of bread. For desert I had 2 marshmallows and 3 maraschino cherries dipped in chocolate fondue. That doesn't sound like much but it will do me in for weight loss this week I'm afraid!

For breakfast I had one hard boiled egg, and a Kielbasa about 4 inches long. Then I had a quarter of a piece of Babka!

I stepped on the scale tonight. I shouldn't have but I'm a glutton for torture. I like to stare at the numbers and scold myself into obedience. I was up three pounds from this morning. Three pounds in one day! I should have never eaten of the Pig! It is an unclean beast; that's what it is!

Well now I'm downing the water and trying to flush this all out. I still have another day before weigh in. Hope springs eternal!

Now for the weigh in day. I want to give weight loss credit where its due. So if you would like, I will post any weight that you have lost since January in the sidebar. So give me your total numbers and we'll go from there. Of course wait until Tuesday Weigh In. On Tuesday not only give me your totals but make sure to give me that weeks loss too. At that time I will reveal to you exactly how I'm going to display this so everyone gets all the credit they deserve for every tiny pound!

In the meantime, let me tell you about sparkpeople. I have mentioned this before and I see some of you have taken me up on it. If you go to sparkpeople.com you can plug in all your foods eaten and it will give you the total nutrients in that food. IT will give you a menu plan each day based on what you say you weigh and what you need to do to lose. If you don't want to use their plan you have the option of just putting in the food you've eaten into the daily slots and it will calculate it for you. It will also give you a personal fitness plan based on how much exercise you want to do. So if you are looking for a way to keep track of your calories that's the place to go. And, get this-it's all FREE!

So good luck people. Go out and lose those pounds.Meanwhile I'll drink water until I swim! Oh, did I tell you that this morning I saw my lowest weight in years? Uh huh, that's right! And its all blown on that beast -the PIG!

this jewish blogger is now sorely in need o'googling the nutrition of ham as my FIRST THOUGHT was:

eh -- it's protein! not too bad except for the salt she can pee out!

glad you had a good easter.

  2. You're going to make a great come-back this week now that you've confessed your sins. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog last week. I'll be curious to read if you try the eating clean approach. So far, I'm a big fan! They have an eating clean area of Sparkpeople. I haven't explored it much yet, but it looks like a very active area.

Best of luck on a good week!

  3. mizfit it IS protein but the salt in it gets me every time! There are two things I know will cause weight gain with me; Chinese food and ham. I assume both of them are from the salt.

scrumpys baker I didnt know that. Now Im going to have to look sparkspeople and see if I can find them. Thanks.

  4. You did WAY better than I would have; and atleast it's probably bloat, which clears up faster than fat(saturated)weight (I think, or maybe it just sounds better:).

And I lost not a pound last week; I'm surprised I actually held my weight, I was afraid it would be a gain of a lb or two.

I'll send my stats tonight, I need to get back on the wagon.
