Blood sugar totally out of control...hitting the protein every two hours to bring insulin back where it belongs...if I even touch a carb without protein I instantly get so tired I cant keep my eyes open...rescue plan under way the last couple days...lots of success in regulating diet and blood sugar...proves I know how to do it when I really have to....
that is 100% me.
ReplyDeleteeven great complex carb like oatmeal I need to have with protein or Im FREAKIN FAMISHED in 10 minutes.
What proteins do you eat? Nuts and skinless boneless chicken? I know those are some of the best along with tuna. I was just curious. I am glad to see you are still working at it. I on the other hand have just not been able to get back to it. It has been so frustrating too since it is starting to be swimsuit weather. No way I am ready for that. I guess I will have to keep my cover up for this year as well.
ReplyDeleteI do want to say thank you for continuing to do this. It is inspiring me still.
So I have weighed in and I am so upset with myself. I am practically back to the original 167 pds I started from last year when you started this blog.
I am offically at 161. I would still like to get to about 130-135ish.
I found a book "Protein Power" that I've had for a while now, and just started that a couple of weeks ago. I think it's better then Adkins, more "real" food, less processed. I've been off sugar and wheat (ACK!) for almost 3 weeks now, the pounds aren't melting off, but a few and I feel so GOOD! That alone is making it worth it, plus I'm not hungry!
ReplyDeleteVanessa you will just have to get back at it. YOu can do this. Like I said in my last post its not over just because you lost the battle. The war is still on and you have a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteMargie I remember that book but I had forgotten until you reminded me. Im going to check that out of the library and take a look at it.
I eat carbs for one meal a day but always combined with protein.
For some odd reason when I need a protein boost I almost always go for cheese and eggs. Its been this way since back in the 70's when I first discovered I was hypoglocemic.
Yesterday I had slices of provolone cheese on three tomato slices with a leaf of oregano off my herb plant and it was so good together. But anyway thats just a sample of what I eat for a protein lift.
I also use peanut butter a lot. A tsp of peanut butter goes a long way. Right now I have thins slices of grilled steak in the fridge and a salad cut up for lunch when I get home.
I love peanut butter too, which is a nice treat for me. I try to focus on what I can eat and not on what I can't. I made some flax crackers yesterday that were so easy to make and actually taste great! Now I have something to dip into my guacamole, another big treat. For some reason getting off of sugar this time wasn't that hard, had a headache for a couple of days, but now I don't have the craving.
