Eating Salad and Feeling On Top

Doing well on my resolve to eat protein. We took a little vacation for our anniversary and ate at a wonderful all you can eat seafood buffet overlooking the Columbia River. Its a very upscale Lodge and the food is out of this world. Between that and breakfast the following morning I gained about 4 pounds. This morning I'm back down to 219.

I've set my face toward the goal and I wont turn back. The days are flowing nicely back into my eating pattern. I let my weight creep up and I'm not sure why. I do know though that my head is fully back in the game and it already feels like I never slid from my program. By the way, I don't count my anniversary weekend as cheating because I totally gave myself permission to eat then.

But that's one way I can tell I'm back into this. I came home and immediately began eating right again.

So here I am; 8 pounds up from where I was in January. So the first 6 months of this year I have gained 8 pounds instead of lost. That's a bummer. The next 6 months I am going to see a loss. I have no doubts!

I've been eating a lot of salads with my protein. Its the perfect time of year for it. My garden stuff is starting to come in and that will mean fresh veggies at my fingertips. July will be a good month!

  1. Happy Anniversary! I love the Columbia River Gorge, and I think I have even had the buffet, not recently though. You have to give yourself permission to indulge, just like you said, and get home and get right back to it, you won't fail with that attitude! (Our anniversary is this week, but we won't be eating anywhere fancy.....this year anyway)
