At a dead end

I broke out with another case of candida. I have the yeast rash all over my legs and back and stomach. The doctor says there is nothing they can do about it and that it is more of a thing for an naturopathic doctor. Well that's great but if you don't know of any naturopaths or you don't have the money for one, then what? Do you just live with this stuff?

All I want is sugar! Seriously I just crave it. I read that is a result of the yeast. So now what? I have no idea.

  1. Mrs. Darling,

Go to a health food store or pharmacy and get yourself some xylitol. It's a natural sugar, tastes just like sugar, no aftertaste, good for your teeth and possibly your bones (google for study done in Finland), low glycemic index (doesn't use insulin to metabolize), natural anti-biotic, good for candida... sounds too good to be true, doesn't it!

It is expensive, though. And, in large quantity can have a laxative effect, so build up your "dosage" gradually.

When you crave sugar you can eat it with the tip of a spoon or just dip your finger in it (I do that with the little packets, after meals and snacks, for my teeth).

It should be good for candida. One of the reasons xylitol can't be used in baking yeast bread is because the yeast can't feed on it and reproduce.

I have ordered some candies and gums through zelliescleanwhiteteeth.com. In the meantime, I've found gum sweetened with xylitol at the health food store (Spry brand) and am enjoying granulated xylitol sprinkled on plain yogurt, on strawberries, in tea, etc.

I'm using it to try and re-build my teeth and bones. I don't have candida. But I do have a sweet tooth (and very picky tastebuds - I really am amazed at how good this stuff tastes) and I count calories. Xylitol has 9.6 calories per teaspoon.

I'm sure xylitol won't cure candida on its own but I think it will help with the sweet tooth, at least.

I hope you find a treatment that cures your candida. That sounds like a horrible thing to live with!
